Benefits Of Toroidal Transformers |
- The Toroidal Transformer is smaller thinner & lighter than EI transformer.
- The Toroidal Transformer produces least leakage flux compare to EI and R-Core transformer.
- The Toroidal Transformer produces no noise, a feature far different from the EI Transformer.
- The Toroidal Transformer produces least heat (almost nil) because of the shape; the cooling surface area available in a Toroidal Transformer is more than any other type.
- The Toroidal Transformer permits more compact design and lower cost of your products than EI Transformer.
- The Toroidal Transformer is a simpler structure than the EI Transformer, features higher reliability and quality.
- The Toroidal Transformer elements the need for magnetic shielding as required by the conventional transformers.
- The Toroidal Transformer produces lines of magnetic flux, are contained within the core itself, there is no stray magnetic flux is radiated outside the periphery
of the core.
- The Toroidal Transformer elements problem of hum picked up by the sensitive circuitry placed around the transformer.
- The Toroidal Transformer is mounted by simple bolt saving the weight of an additional bracket as well as extra mounting bolts.

Mounting Style
Disk mount: In our standard mounting configuration, toroids are supplied with one metal disk and two rubber washers for simple, inexpensive, one-hole, one-bolt mounting.
Flange mount: For maximum stability, or where it is necessary to mount larger toroids, flange mounting is recommended. Each toroid is sandwiched between two metal flanges, which are bolted to the equipment structure. Available for Toroidal from 150VA to 2KVA.
Potted center: For applications where the position of the toroid is critical, the center hole is potted with rugged thermoplastic material. A precisely located center hole is then drilled where the mounting bolt will be inserted. A threaded insert or press-fitted studs are available options.
"L" brackets: To achieve the minimum "footprint", the toroid can be supplied mounted vertically on an "L" bracket. Special enclosures: Several special enclosures are also available for mounting toroids. These include metal and moulded plastic boxes. Call for details. |
